They're both telnet gateway modules (in your Synchronet exec directory). The
mudgate.src/bin is identical to telgate.src/bin except that it sets up the
configuration a bit differently as is required by the typical MUD server.

Look at exec/telgate.src.

If you're creating a gateway to a regular Telnet server or BBS, use telgate. If
you're creating a gateway to a MUD server, use mudgate. That's it.
