The NTP client accepts connections from *any host*. It > has nothing to do with which "software" has access to do what. Isn't that what I just said? Emphasised recap: Ah, the LACK OF AUTHENTICATION. NO WAY OF saying "Only this BBS Software that BBS Software has access to do this" ... ANY TOM, DICK OR HARRY can upload / download anything to / from ANYWHERE. "lack of authentication" is another way of saying "accepts connections from *any host* just as "any tom, dick or harry" means it does NOT have anything to do with "which software" has access to what. So how did I not only NOT understand as well as supposedly NOT say the same thing you did, only in a bit of a different way? I'm curious. -- .---------------------------------------------------------------. | [TiME WaRRiOR] aka [Dave Kelso] AIM: Twar782 | +o Malkavia BBS | | www : synchsupport.net - malkaviabbs.com - xpresit.net | | www$: josephsjewelersonline.com - preferedinsurance.com | | @: time.warrior@malkaviabbs. com | \______________________________________________________________/ --- Synchronet 3.12a-Win32 NewsLink 1.76 * Malkavia - Chicago, IL - telnet://malkaviabbs.com --- Synchronet 3.12b-Win32 NewsLink 1.83 .
