I mean some find features in elebbs better suited to them (more RA like).. or mystic, etc... to each their own, I think the biggest reason for growth in sync is active support... the fact that about every inch of a synchronet board is 100% moddable is a an infinate bonus.. (and by about every inch, I mean without using a compiler). > you never heard "mystic is so different than synchronet" for example, > because synch sysops are probably happy/content/satisfied/overjoyed with > their software and it's awesome support with frequent updates and constant > evolution. Yeah, when I saw that sync had javascript I loved it... (a little frustrated at times, when little bugs creeped up, no offense to dm or deuce).. I had very little intent on using baja from that point, I know/knew js pretty well, and was easy enough to get into it with sync. > that is one thing synch has always had over the competition -- active > evolution and progress... Well, there was a little stagnation at 2.3, but it was so far ahead of any free, let alone opensource software at the time... I really liked, and to this day like sync's chat section... it need(ed) some tweaks, but so does anything... > plus with dudes like you and haakon and so on the possibilities are > limitless since you are so skilled with the software you could do anything > you wanted to do probably. thank you.. time and motivation aside of course. > what i'm really looking forward to is seeing the new web stuff integrated > with messaging and stuff via the web like a forum (or some way to get to > it via javascript which i have seen looks to be possible from reading the > documentation).. to have communication on all fronts maintain consistent > ease of publication would be a dream come true for me. same here... -- Michael J.
