With MTelnet, hit <alt>+<enter> and it will go to full screen.

Qmodem Pro is supposed to work with telnet in the last version and there 
is supposed to be a key or some such out and about for it. At least that 
is the hearsay I've heard.

I use MTelnet and it does fine in regular mode.
