Greetings as well. I used BBS's way back when, until I got that $600
phone bill one month. :)

Then I found the internet and started working for ISP's back in the
early 90's. I just sort of forgot about BBS's after that. Now I'm a
corporate IT drone and was reading something new.com about BBS's and
found out about Synchronet.

I thought, what the heck? and downloaded and installed it. I have to
say it went in very smoothly and I'm slowly learning how to make it
work. 

At this point I don't know if I will be leaving it online with the
computer I'm using. I'm going to see if I can get my hands on one of
the old systems where I work that is do for scrapping due to old age.
If a PII and a chunk of RAM will do, I'll bring that online and use
it.

No doubt I will be asking many many questions in the future. For now
I'll just sit back and lurk a bit.

Once I'm more secure in how this works I'll post the address.:)
