It's a feature request. > Yeah. I don't understand *why* you would want to different inactivity > warning/time-out per security level. Heck, the fact that it's configurable a > all I think makes it pretty flexible! Most BBS Softwares (that i've noticed anyways) have the opinion of configuring it. However, as for why would per asc be a good idea? Both a good and very fair question! :-) Lets say your a Sysop and you are in a message scan but are also bouncing to and from the PC. Well, it's your BBS, why get timed out? At the same time -- you might not want Joe-average-user to be able to park indefinately. So you set LEVEL 99 to unlimited and LEVEL 50 to "XX" mins. Now lets say you're trying to do things like encourage message posting, etc... one of the bennefits of complying and thus getting your access raised, is more time leniancy on the session time out. If they just ran to the bathroom for 10 mins and were in the middle of a message scan, obviously they are doing something productive on the BBS (not leeching files or just logging on, parking and forgetting about it) so you'd want your more deserving users to be allowed more leway with that. -- .---------------------------------------------------------------. | [TiME WaRRiOR] aka [Dave Kelso] AIM: Twar782 | +o Malkavia BBS | | www : synchsupport.net - malkaviabbs.com - xpresit.net | | www$: josephsjewelersonline.com - preferedinsurance.com | | @: time.warrior@malkaviabbs. com | \______________________________________________________________/ --- Synchronet 3.12a-Win32 NewsLink 1.76 * Malkavia - Chicago, IL - telnet://malkaviabbs.com --- Synchronet 3.12b-Win32 NewsLink 1.83 .
