If there is a regular posting of the "stat" header then it could be used the same as the x-apparently-to, etc headers as a preliminary lookup. note: I haven't seen this "stat" header, and am not 100% sure if the newsgate (which is different from nntpservice) looks for these fields, but suppose it *could* be done just the same.. -- Michael J.
