What does a "--(space)(hard return)" > supposedly do? Yeah I think it's lame too, but most usenet clients manditorily support a "signature delimiter" for correct quoting. You can read alt.2600 how I got nicely (and also not so nicely lol) asked (and rudely demanded lol) that I "put a delimiter in my sig" (which is why you see the -- on the first line now). A proper usenet delimiter is two -- chrs and a space chr followed by a hard CR. Yes, I think it's lame BUT it would avoid others (expecially innocent and ignorant newbies) to be confused and attacked when posting in Usenet via Synchronet and not having (or knowing about, or how to impliment) a delimiter in their sigs. It's just a contingancy to keep the usenet sharks at bay. Anyone who has partaken of a flame war in the BBS Scene has not experienced the extreme possible levels of stupidity and hostility that they might run into on Usenet. Any moronic wars in the scene are nothing compared to some of the trolls and flamers wandering around usenet. -- .---------------------------------------------------------------. | [TiME WaRRiOR] aka [Dave Kelso] AIM: Twar782 | +o Malkavia BBS | | www : synchsupport.net - malkaviabbs.com - xpresit.net | | www$: josephsjewelersonline.com - preferedinsurance.com | | @: time.warrior@malkaviabbs. com | \______________________________________________________________/ --- Synchronet 3.12a-Win32 NewsLink 1.76 * Malkavia - Chicago, IL - telnet://malkaviabbs.com --- Synchronet 3.12b-Win32 NewsLink 1.83 .
