he wants it for the auto-appended signatures that sync adds to user posted 
messages for those message areas that are flagged for nntp, not a bad idea, 
though would suggest it for "all" posts, since all areas are generally 
accessible via nntp...

One usefull thing, is many nntp readers will autostrip the signature down from 
replies, which is a nicety at the very least. ;)
