Subj : Market Action To : All From : Paul Rogers Date : Wed Jan 05 2005 05:17 pm Content-type: text/plain The sell-off continued today. Although prices were down just a little, volume continued heavy, still up 25% above average. But the negative momentum has been enough for my timing signal to pop a SELL signal. It didn't do too bad this time, up 58pts, even if this wasn't a trade I would have made. If I had, I'd sell and ignore any dithering in the near term. After short sharp moves there's typically a "snap-back". It's these first signals that tend to be most useful (see my on-line chart for 2003-2004 for examples). For the year, the cumulative gain for the timing signal is 123pts, absent expenses. In case you missed my announcement, my "Tracking the Market" page has been updated. Pick one of the URL's below. If I did though, well, I might use something like this. (Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)
