Subj : Market Action To : All From : Paul Rogers Date : Tue Dec 07 2004 05:28 pm Content-type: text/plain Would it be a stretch to suggest investors should always remember the lessons of "Pearl Harbor Day"? Clearly the Boy Scout Motto, "Always be prepared", applies. I can't quite say nothing that happens in the market should surprize you. But you should should always be paying attention, especially when bad news arrives! Don't reject it. When you receive warnings, act! And don't count on dumb luck, not having "all your eggs in one basket", to provide what protection you have. Always have an adequate array of your resources deployed for your protection. If you remember your history, you know exactly what I'm referring to. I checked the market action this morning before heading to the mall, and it was hugging the line again. Apparently the Street got indigestion at lunch, because at 1EST it all came apart and started sliding. It isn't a "Distribution Day" according to my formula, volume was up only +2% above average, but prices were down nearly enough to be significant all on their own. The momentum of the Advances vs Declines has fallen out of bed, the Oscillator has come within a skosh of falling into my "very negative" classification. This isn't looking good. If I did though, well, I might use something like this. (Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)
