Subj : Market Action To : All From : Paul Rogers Date : Fri Oct 15 2004 07:21 pm

The market was choppy but up during the morning reacting to the news,
but about noon it seems Greenspan released a statement that oil prices,
closing at $54.93 today, would hurt the recovery but not kill it. At
that prices staged a definite but moderate rally, which petered-out in
early afternoon. Prices returned to choppy behavior, but closed up
modestly. Volume rose to +23% above average though.

There was one thing wrong with Greenspan's statement, he was
anticipating future technologies would lessen the demand on world oil
reserves. He's out of his league there. Energy research isn't his
field of expertise.

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)

Winner or Loser: Winner By: +4
