Subj : Market Action To : All From : Paul Rogers Date : Thu Jun 17 2004 05:48 pm

The market fell through the morning and struggled vainly to get above
the line the rest of the day. Once again volume rose, as compared to
yesterday, but it was still -4% below average.

One of the traditional aphorisms among investors is: Don't fight the
tape! I think as it applies now, to this situation, it means don't try
to make something of the market that isn't there. That's not to say you
can ignore the market, but that your efforts should be directed
elsewhere, such as working on your shopping list as I suggested
yesterday. As if you were a wind instrument player, if you wait for the
conductor to give your cue to draw a breath, you're already behind the
beat. Prepare yourself now for the market's next move, and don't assume
you know which direction it's going to jump. Know what to buy or sell
at the drop of a hat no matter what happens, when it happens.

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)

Last Signal: BUY Date: 05/25/04 S&P: 1113
