Subj : Market Action To : All From : Paul Rogers Date : Wed Oct 15 2003 07:07 pm
A couple times during today's trading the market dropped severely with
spikes in volume. I'd guess it was when various news stories hit the
floor, most likely earnings reports. In the end, the market showed weak
action and volume was up +8% above average. Once again, the main thing
it shows is how willing the Street is to sell-off any stock that
disappoints them. That's not the sort of action that happens during a
Bull Market! Of course, I haven't been convinced we're in a Bull Market
yet. We've got two weeks for the mutual fund managers to do whatever
they're going to do.

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)
