Subj : Market Action To : All From : Paul Rogers Date : Mon Jul 14 2003 09:01 pm

I think I heard a bit of the music Wall Street's listening to: "Ain't
nothing gonna break my stride; nothing gonna to bring me down. Oh, no!
I've got to keep on moving." I don't listen to that kind of music
though. I'm not so sanguine, even though confessions this quarter were
"sotto voce". I'd be out of everything I should be out of, and keeping
my shopping list up to date, but waiting for more news on jobs and the
economy, and a less risky time to buy anything I want. In summertime
the livin' might be easy, but it's usually a tough time for the Market.

Today prices hovered between 1110 and 1115 almost all day, falling to
1004 in late selling, up 6. Still Up-Volume beat Down-Volume about 2:1,
and total volume was just about average. Advancers led Decliners about
3:2. So all in all it won't go into the book as a bad day.

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)
