Today's Volume just barely made it back up onto the chart, still 46%
below average. I guess Wall Street was out looking for bargains on Main
Street. Volatility is low. If there's not much "selling against the
box" or tax selling to be done, and that's a decent guess, then the
Market will probably stay flat to year end.

It's said someone asked Will Rogers if he belonged to an organized
political party. His response was, "No, Sir, I'm a Democrat." I saw a
headline today that they are going to make the war on terrorism their
issue for 2004. Is this "The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight"? "It's
the economy, stupid!" OK, I guess they'd have to reword that somehow.
It might have some "unfortunate" associations, but it's just as true now
as it was 10 years ago.

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)

Last Signal: SELL Date: 12/16/02 S&P: 891
Winner or Loser: Loser By: -19
