How about that! The "trends" of all six indicators are flat. Now,
most of these are only five-day trends. But still, it reinforces what
has already been obvious--the Market is FLAT.
There may be some year-end selling for tax purposes, but it doesn't look
to me like there is likely to be much real movement in the Market until
the big issues, Iraq and the economy, come to some resolution.
Both of those depend in large part on the Administration and the it's
policies. I'm a little afraid when it comes to the economy they will do
what all politicians do--promise a lot more than what their proposals
can deliver. We can pretty well guess what the proposals will be.
Regardless of what they ARE, they'll be cast in terms that we want to
hear. We'll be told they are the needed cure. That takes care of the
electorate, but the Street will be more skeptical and want to see
results. The Market could go either way.

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)
Last Signal: SELL Date: 12/16/02 S&P: 891
Winner or Loser: Loser By: -19
