The Sysop there is using Windows 2000. It does spawn ntvdm.exe so it sounds like I should either suggest changing to WinNT or plug it in myself and try it. I have tried setting it to Multitasker NONE and WINDOWS He's running Wildcat Server, and my temporary fix was to start wcserver.exe on high priority at bootup via a registry "hack" and a batch file. It's helped a great deal up to this point, but I still consider it a temporary fix. I spoke with the sysop of Sanitarium BBS today. He's running Wildcat and 10 + InterBBS SRgames. I started calling his board about a month ago and never noticed a slow down when users were playing the games. Originally I was under the impression that it was an OS-specific problem where the OS wasn't handling the 16-bit dos programs as well as it might, however Randy of Sanitarium said that 512K RAM made all the difference when running 16-bit dos games as doors. The BBS I'm working on/helping with has 256K. I haven't confirmed first-hand that this will work, but the sysop ordered more RAM for his BBS computer, so we shall see. :) ....
