As to the board above I don't SA> knwo them personally but I think Mark did so can't SA> comment much beyond that. DH> DH> Well now, that explains everything then. Since its a merged league he doesn't know my boards personally like I do and vice versa. Just how things are running a big league/network. The admin details get boggling. But then again you'll never know cause "no time". SA> The above is a bit conflicting at least in 4 spots. SA> First you say could "still be cheating" but we'd not SA> know about it yet then you say those who do don't think SA> we could find out. First you admit its hard to prove SA> then bottom you say its easy to detect? Confusion. DH> DH> No confusion. If you know what you are doing, it is simple DH> but time consuming to not be detected. It is easy to detect DH> when a mistake is made. When an inconsistency is seen DH> and a pattern is confirmed. Said from the armchair but not said behind a LC's screen. SA> I may be wrong and Dev could jump in here but I believe he SA> checked and confirmed the down status a few times. Beyond SA> that unless we poll their phone line every 10 minutes SA> again difficult to prove or study. DH> DH> No, you are wrong, you wouldn't have to do a check but maybe DH> every 4 to 6 hours and only when a board is suspected of that DH> kind of activity. A check like that , heck I could do it on the DH> road using my ppc hooked to a cellphone. If you had the cash sure to spend. if I knew you wanted that done whey didn't you donate cash for us to do that for our phone bills? We even posted that for folks who wanted us to do that send cash. Gee..no one did. SA> Should you unfairly kick a board out for valid SA> problems? SA> No. I definitely disagree with your belief there. DH> DH> Why? If they can't get their shit together that game, then it DH> would give them time without pressure to get it together DH> next game. Yes and no but things happen ALL the time. Not just this reset and that reset. Stuff happens. SA> In the above case its been so long i forget the exact SA> details. DH> DH> Yea, it probably did fade from memory quickly since it was DH> so much easier for Hoover to just make up lies when we left. Since I've not seen any statement as to the actual lie made then I guess I can't comment on thin air. Since its just baseless accusations. Since i talk to him nightly and know him well enoguh I tend to repsect his views a bit longer than most others. Until you care to itemize things a bit better then we'll move on. SA> me the proof. How? Show me the board is indeed up SA> and SA> players are in bre and can login but can't say send SA> mail. Then we'll deal with that board as a possible SA> cheater. Till then hard to prove. DH> DH> What is the problem? Check their mail server, if it is working DH> then it is a problem with the board. If the board is having problems DH> and it is disrupting your game, then sit them out of the game and DH> they can try again next game. End of problem. Challenge: Right now this week. Test my mail server. See if my irex is working. Go on. Do it? You can't. For one you can't just login to any server or any irex setup from your home. If they ran a Ftp site or email server tht's one thing. But guess what. Most folks do not. Since most folks like in our leagues use one central ftp site and email server that's easy to monitor. But since we can't tell if John Doe's ISP is down that day then we can't. But tell me when my isp is down and send me an email then I'll know that your above statements can be done. With any decent regard. You'll find its a bit more challgening (pardon the pun) than it is. SA> Did you prove a board was fiddling with mail or such? No. SA> It was simply text in a post. We couldn't prove it SA> nor could you. DH> DH> Why do you wish to be sent duplicate information? The proof DH> we had showing this, you already had, you just didn't want to DH> look. We looked. Like in MFs case before you we spent almost 3 weeks. For your evidence we spent less cause it wasn't much to go on. At least he had things we could research and commont on. He had a few dates and times. Among other things. I must say he was a bit more organized just sadly he didn't care to look at the results. SA> captures of such discrepacies? No. unfournately not SA> to my knowledge. DH> DH> They weren't holding packets. Its called 'an example' :) --- Fringe BBS * Origin: EWOG II - The Fringe - 904-733-1721 (1:112/91) .
