Looks like things are gona have to wait a while for someone like me to assume 
the modertorship. Since the old modertor is not responding, but the echo (as 
far as the offical echolist is conserned) is not due to be relisted, we need to 
wait. Then if the Moderator is really gone, when the listing expires it can be 
relisted by someone else (like me). I'll let you all know if that changes, but 
thas how things appear so far.
