Hugh Gregory the moderator has told me that he has decided that
he will make an exception and declare aviation to be a permitted topic
for the SPACE echo, despite the fat that there is already an AVIATION
echo elsewhere on Fidonet.

So here is my resignation as Assistant Moderator of this echo.
It used to be fun and interesting here.  The low volume of traffic
does not bother me at all.   If we are going to allow people
to discuss off topic stuff just to create traffic, then the purpose
of the echo has been completely lost.

    The Moderator and I seem to have a disagreement on that point,
    so I can no longer fulfil my role as his Assistant.

Being Assistant Moderator here has become a royal pain in the neck,
and is not fun any more, so why bother.

  Err, no, there is nothing professional about this activity, I have not 
  been paid for it.   I used to do it because I enjoyed it, and because

 So what is your point ?  That people should be allowed to talk about
 anything purely for the sake of creating traffic ?   

 Personally I do not see the point of it, there are plenty of
 other places to discuss that stuff.  I guess it is a sign of the
 times that people are no longer interested in spaceflight, and
 get their entertainment by arguing with people for the sake of
 their egos.

 I did not tell you stay quiet about anything.  I simply
 reminded you of the rules.    But it seems the rules are
 no longer being enforced.

 Now that I have resigned, and the primary moderator and his
 assistant have decided to no longer enforce the rules, have fun
 talking about airplanes or klingons or whatever.
