Subj : Friendly reminder - rule To : Wayne Chirnside From : Charles Radley Date : Sun Sep 03 2000 11:58 am Dear Wayne and Ward, Greetings and Welcome, Thank you for participating in the international Fidonet SPACE echo. It seems I need to issue a friendly reminder concerning the echo rules. Discussion of Aviation is OFF TOPIC for the international SPACE echo. Please cease and desist from further discussion of the Tu-144. This is an international and politically neutral forum. Comments espousing nationalistic superiority or one upmaniship are inappropriate. Poking fun at or deriding objects of national pride could easily be misinterpreted, and might cause offense. So they are also inappropriate. We have a particular written policy regarding discussion of the Challenger accident, here it is: As a nation attempting to develop a space-faring civilization, we learned much and agonized greatly over the tragedy. The best way to pick up after tragedy is to move on, leave the memories in our hearts, and carry out the mission by continuing forward. The friends and families of the Challenger astronauts and the ground teams may run across this conference, and it would behoove us all to treat the mission with quiet respect. Hence, it is off-limits for this forum. The SPACE echo rules are posted here every month, please take the opportunity to refresh yourselves on their content. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
