Being aware is the major step the rest is hard work.

No need too, if you have a copy of "The Big Book" there is a chapter in it that 
deals with this same situation.  There is quite a few people that have stayed 
sober for many decades that are atheists.

Jacques what chapter is it, I think it is either last half of 5 or 6.

This requires some "mind editing" on your part, keep going to meetings and when 
the Serenity Prayer, and Lords Prayer are recited, be part of the circle, but 
refrain from the recital, and substitute "Whatever" for God.  The only thing is 
"DO NOT" let the God bit deter you from being sober.
