               SILVER_XPRESS Conference Rules and Guidelines

The SILVER_XPRESS conference is for sysops and users to discuss the
operation and nuances of the various Xpress Offline Mail Messaging systems.
It is technical in nature but has been known to delve into related subjects
on occasion.

Due to some confusion in purpose of the conference, the following rules
are to be followed effective immediately.

1. The topic of the SILVER_XPRESS conference is the use and operation of
   XPMAIL (SX door), XPREAD (real mode reader), XPREADP (Protected mode
   reader) and related files/utilities. Discussions should remain related
   to the subject at hand. Discussions of the Platinum Xpress Front-End
   Mailer System should be moved to its sister conference, PLATINUM_XPRESS.

2. Off-topic discussions will be kept to a minimum. Short discussions
   will be allowed but when asked to be discontinued by either the
   moderator *OR THE AUTHOR*, should be.

3. Both the Moderator and Author have jurisdiction over this conference.
   When there is a final decision to be made, the Moderator has the right
   to make that decision. Decisions of either party are final and not
   subject to appeal.

4. When stating a problem here, indicate the version number and flavor of
   the door (PC Board, Maximus, Opus, etc.) and reader (real or protected
   mode) in use, and any particular hardware/software setups which might
   assist us in evaluation.

Now I hate to say it, but those are the rules. There are a few more
rules that we request be followed but are not mandatory (with exception
of rule #6 & #10):

5. Spelling does not count.

6. Flames are not allowed. If you wish to flame someone, please do it
   netmail. If you can't do it netmail, then don't do it at all.

7. This conference is not an alias conference. Everyone should be using
   their real names here.

8. Xpress Windows are allowed here. But since some people object, we ask
   that the usage be kept down to a dull roar.

9. Discussions concerning other offline systems are frowned upon. This
   is a support conference for Silver Xpress and not a general forum for
   offline reader systems. The only exception to this rule is where the
   discussion of a third-party offline reader is in direct relation to
   its use with any flavor of the Xpress Door system and only where
   such discussion concerns whether or not that third party offline reader
   has been known to work under any flavor of the Xpress Door system.
   Support for third-party readers is not provided or implied and
   discussion of them will be kept to an ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM.  The
   Moderator and Author have the right to terminate any such discussions
   at any time with or without explanation.

10.Discussions or advertisements of competitor products by their respective
   authors or supporters are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN except as denoted in Rule #9
   above.  This should go without saying.  Authors violating this rule will
   be IMMEDIATELY BANNED from further posting in the conference.  End-user
   supporters of competitive products will receive ONE WARNING, after which
   they will be IMMEDIATELY BANNED on a second violation.  Reinstatement will
   NOT BE forthcoming.
