Subj : [2 of 2] The Ultimate Computer Affair To : All From : Kay Shapero Date : Thu Sep 05 2002 01:00 am Presumably the party will find out where the meet is one way or another, even if they don't take up with Mei Lyn, set up bugs, hide out somewhere, and record the meet. THRUSH arrives first (at which point Our Heroes will find out who the local group is if they haven't already), being already in residence on board, followed by Praed and his aides. Everything goes through with no problem, and nobody will spot the bugs (or even think to look for them - c'mon, this is the Roaring Twenties.) Several THRUSH agents will be roaming around during all this, as will the ship security, but nobody will actually catch the party (after all, security isn't worried - look who's with them!) Whatever happens, if the party gets into serious trouble, Mei Lyn will deal with it either by ordering ship security to relax or if necessary transforming. This shouldn't happen unless they REALLY do something dumb. On the way back to the boat, a THRUSH agent will recognize Cameron and challenge him to O'Sullivan, who is giving his guests the usual sendoff. Mei Lyn will vouch for the party to O'Sullivan who will agree "If ye say so, darlin'." After all, they have not broken any ship regulations (there's no rule against spying, after all, just violence and weaponry.) The THRUSH agent will pull out a forbidden gun and threaten the party. The idiot. Shortly thereafter, he will turn pale and faint. Behind the party, Mei Lyn has shifted to her true form, that of a Chinese Dragon. She is, after all, O'Sullivan's main enforcer. Act Three Scene: Cameron's office, or wherever they've stashed UiNeal. Action: The party returns the recorder to UiNeal, who reads the information therein and turns even paler. The computer is sentient! Presumably a partner of Praed's, involved in a bid to take over THRUSH and, by extension conquer the world. No wonder someone took a shot at him - the sin has just gone from venial to mortal. Now the party must get UiNeal out of town with a portable radio, or to a place with a radio or something like that, so that he can contact reinforcements. Fortunately, a team will already be on the ground someplace out of town nearby, since he missed his last two check-in times. Following this, they must stay away from Praed and associates until rescue arrives, as no matter what UiNeal reports over the airwaves, Praed will realize that he is in big trouble unless he can kill UiNeal and grab whatever evidence he's got. It would also be a good idea to warn THRUSH, but if the party doesn't think of it or can't figure out how, the team will. Once the team arrives and arrests Praed and associates (the whole cast should converge at the same time - pitched battle. DUCK!) the party will be needed offworld as witnesses at the trial. Free trip to the sector capital! Afterwards, they will be returned and told not to worry about THRUSH, as they are most grateful to the party for stopping Praed's conquest bid. While no explicit inviation will be given, anyone who asks to stay with the Teklenan will be allowed to do so. Epilogue Scene: Cameron's office or wherever. Back on Earth, Cameron receives a simple thank you note on THRUSH stationery. He also finds a note in his desk drawer (or wherever) with a date, a time, and the words "Chan Lee's". This turns out to be the name of a Chinatown restaurant. Upon arrival, he meets a Chinese THRUSH agent, Chan Lee himself (if he comes alone, Chan will come to the table, otherwise he will be summoned away.) Chan Lee will invite Cameron to join THRUSH. (Incidentally, should Cameron think to ask, this is Mei Lyn's brother...) --- Msged 6.0.1 * Origin: StormGate Aerie (1:102/524) .
