I don't know your particular situatina so only speak generally here. So its not a flame. I see this all the time unfournately. Far too many these days of the farewells..Been doing bbsing for 18 years since '83 so seen the good and bad times. But I have found the majority of inactive boards are not the fault of the 'net or users. Its the sysop who doesn't participate in the echos and try to help users. The sysop who doesn't post at all then complains about no posting activity is a bit whacked :) The same sysop who only turns to look at his board once a month to do a email or two if that then complains of activity is whacked as well. Again don't know your situation. True the Intenet has helped this but is not the sole cause of the problems. Folks just give up without trying. I run a very active board and fido style network. Just last week hit a all time record of 350 posts for me and 72 for the users for a single day. But I digress...too many folks close down with the excuse of really not trying to continue the bbs. Its sad really. A sysop should be dedicated to create new things and new methods to get users. So many dial-up bbses go telent in hopes that telnet automatically = users. It does nto. I'm not telnet and never will be cause I'm not that desperate for users got plenty now. I guess all I'm saying is I hope you tried your best to continue the bbs...and unfournately failed...at least you stayed this long :) ....
