Subj : Peace] Move 7 To : All From : mbottorff@sprintmail.com Date : Sun Apr 15 2001 09:10 am From: mbottorff@sprintmail.com (Michelle & Boyd Bottorff) Subject: Peace] Move 7 Organization: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?=CC?= The remaining four of you (Edgar; John; Ger; and Jeffy, Earl of Sniegrass) continue on to the west. You make a hurried stop at the inn Lyfun mentioned to you, getting food for a couple days, then continue on. Not long after that, you're surprised when the trail you're following leads off the main road, down a pathway. It's obviously fairly well traveled, and well cleared-- more than enough room on it for a single wagon, though not enough for two. While not paved, ruts you encounter have been filled in with rocks, and low sections of the road have been built up to help drainage. And Edgar thinks he knows this place. If he's not mistaken, it's leads to the estate of Yeats "Bearclaw" Asher, Duke of Fennlinn. He's a retired general in the army, had been an advisor for the last king, and is generally not the type of person Edgar could picture stealing the Sword of the kingdom. It's a large estate, Edgar remembers, covering several miles in all directions, with the main portion of the estate-- what the road runs to-- being about a square mile, largely wooded, walled off with a medium-sized (about 8-10 feet tall) wall running around it. There's a gatehouse where the road goes through the wall, plus a few other gates around the perimeter, mostly where horse paths went through the wall. The center of the estate, if it hasn't changed, has a medium-sized manor house made of stone and wood, with ornamental gardens and other nice-and-wealthy touches on three sides, and a large open expanse in the front, possibly a good 100 yards worth. Around the gardens and yard is virgin forest. Slipping up to the front gatehouse, you can see that it looks a bit more heavily guarded than would be normally expected. Usually, there's a couple guards by the gates, which are left open; right now there are four guards you can see, and the gates are shut. There is deep forest all around on both sides of the gate. [Side note: all memebers of the group are still a bit tired-- you only got four or five hours sleep. You have horses, weapons, and food for a couple days, but that's it right now.] -- |Fidonet: mbottorff@sprintmail.com |Internet: scott@conchbbs.com | | Standard disclaimer: The views of this user are strictly his own. --- # Origin: (1:106/357.99) * Origin: ConchGate (1:106/357.0) .
