How are you on role playing games of the type that you play with other people, paper and pencil and sometimes dice, cards or whatever? Dungeons and Dragons, Runequest, Shadowrun, GURPS (and all of the multitudinous worlds Steve Jackson Games have published using GURPS as the base rules) and so forth. As for other games played between people, I'm rather found of the CheapAss Games series of board games, which assume you already have the dice and counters that make up so much of the cost of boxed games, and just sell you the rules at $6 or so each. They run heavily to the silly - I just recently acquired a copy of one set in a shopping mall where you run around collecting stuff, running down other players, and swiping things from each other. Haven't played it yet. I also recommend the card game "Chez Geek" for outright silliness. The premise of the game is that you're a group of college roommates, each of whom must meet whatever winning conditions exist on your "occupation" card - usually collecting x number of points. It's pretty straightforward (and yes, you CAN win by changing occupations, too...) but the real appeal of the thing are the really silly cards and situations. Heck, just reading the cards can be a lot of fun. --- Msged TE 06 (pre) * Origin: StormGate Aerie/Home of the FILK echo ... (1:102/524) .
