Well, yes and no. I like writing more than math, but I do enjoy math as well, and it's a subject I can do well in with help and teaching, but not one I can pick up by myself, as opposed to history, where I can pick up a fair amount just by reading. Also, if I ever need a "real" job consulting or something, with a Cornell degree in math I can probably get it. > y> Also, it's a matter of priorities--fido is pretty low on my > y> personal list > > It's highest on mine, mostly since I don't have any hobbies beside it... =( Well, it's not a bad one to have! I just happen to have *too many* hobbies, which is probably just as bad....Since coming to college I've picked up beading, silk painting, computer art, and who knows what else. > y> How many of y'all prefer distance roleplay to live roleplay, or v.v.? > > I haven't played anything for years... Games in our area tend to degenerate when certain players are brought in, which irritates a couple of us no end. I do like email campaigns for long-distance gaming (you can find websites for quite a lot of them, and archives give you a decent idea of the quality), especially for people who might not be able to commit to a weekly tabletop game. Do you find modules or pre-made scenarios helpful for GMing? I dislike them because I like making up my own settings and figuring out how they work. Some people have a talent for memorizing others' settings (Dragonlance and Forgottens Realms gurus come to mind). I don't. If I didn't make it myself, a) I can never remember whatever trivial nitpicky detail, and b) I'm never sure how to add on to it without disrupting something potentially important elsewhere. (I'm reminded of the poor soul on a mailing list I quit, who didn't want gunpowder in her fantasy setting, and wondered if declaring phosphorous nonexistent would fix the problem...!)
