To: Kym VanVliet Subject: CITY] Move1b: A Difficult Decision Darwhal looks off at the late morning landscape, standing on the second-floor balcony of his church. Ghatti Werebreaker stands beside him, delivering his final instructions. 'Now remember boy, you've got to get that notice to Regget The Red. He's the only truly trustworthy member of the council, even if we've finally got a Dwarf as Tor. He'll be able to help us, or at least refer you to someone who can. Good luck, boy. May the Gods serve you well.' With a slap on the back, Ghatti leaves you to your thoughts and your journey. Then he pops back around the corner. 'On second thought, boy, you might not want to depend on the Gods too much. They've been a little stingy lately. Good luck, boy. Best be gone before this place is blown to pieces by some volatile Power angered by my insolence.' He chuckles a litle. Good old Ghatti. Always good for a laugh. The trip is relatively swift, not to mention problem-free. Arriving at the gate, Darwhal immediately notices that there might be a problem. One of the gates seems to have been destroyed. Labourers swarm the area, and traffic into the city has slowed to a crawl as people wait get through the narrowed opening and are constantly delayed by parts arriving for the gate's repair. Faced with a decision in a place he has never been before, Darwhal is hard beset to choose whether to wait it out, or travel around to the next gate. Fortunately, few others seem to have discovered the second solution. Darwhal judges it to be about a half-hour's walk through the lush, green grass to the next gate. Of course, the question still remains as to why nobody else has thought of this.
