Good thing he only goes by Samar....I assume he's dark-skinned then? > No. Why? > > No, I don't believe we'll use the style option, but yes you can put more than two into a weapon. The max is three. The problem that occurs there is minor, but here it is. As you know, putting two proficiencies to a weapon is referred to a Specialization. With Specialization, you should only be able to do that with one weapon, but you can take Proficiency in others. (It makes sense). Putting three proficiencies to a weapon is Mastery. With Mastery, you can no longer take WPs in any other weapon, though you do keep the proficiencies you already have. No you don't get bonuses for high intelligence, but you can substitute Language slots for Non-Weapon Proficiency slots (and vice versa). > > > > Weapon Proficiencies > > > > Sabre - 3 (+3+3 I think, and I'm not sure how many attacks/rd he gets) > > > Main-Gauche - 1 > > > Dagger - 2 > > > Boxing - 1 > > > Alright, so I've cut the Style. At 8th Level, you only get 6 WP slots. You also can't have two weapons with two proficiencies. So your best bet is to Master the Sabre, and take a proficiency in Main-Gauche, Dagger, and Boxing. This will also allow you to use a Dirk, since it is a form of dagger anyway. After this, however, you can't take anymore weapon proficiencies (not that that matters in a PBEM campaign anyway). OK. According to my math this is one too many, but according to my memory of swashbuckler he gets a free prof. in his main weapon. > > > > Non Weapon proficiencies > > > Alertness - 1 > > > Riding - 1 > > > Animal Handling - 1 > > > Blind-Fighting - 2 > > > Ettiquette - 1 (free) > > > Tumbling - 1 (free) + 1 > > > Heraldry - 1 > > > Dancing - 1 > > > Tight-rope walking - 1 > According to my memory of Swahsbuckler, he gets ettiquette and tumbling free (so the math works out). If that isn't the case, drop the heraldry and the extra tumbling > > Okay, why are the tw o of those free? Everythingelse works because you > > Okay, here's the thing. A Finely Crafted bonus cannot be added to a Magical Bonus; to be enchanted, a weapon must be Finely Crafter anyways, and so the Magic overrides the craftsmanship. But you certainly don't get both. So, revised things look like this. > > > 1 Throwing Dagger +2 > > 1 Sabre +2, with a basket hilt (provides +1 to Parry) > > 1 Leather Armor +3 > > 1 Main-Gauche +1, with a basket hily (provides +1 to Parry and Disarm) > > > Now, I can't let you have two +3 Items, so I've knocked the Sabre down to a +2 (the Mastery you have with it makes the bonuses high enough anyways, so you can kind of afford to do that) > Fine by me. ;-) -- |Fidonet: dhd10@cornell.edu |Internet: scott@conchbbs.com | | Standard disclaimer: The views of this user are strictly his own. --- # Origin: (1:106/357.99) * Origin: ConchGate (1:106/357.0) .
