Ou, i will try:

Hardware: I have an ISDN modem which is directly connected to the first com 
port (no internal ISDN card = no CAPI). This ISDN modem have three analoge 
ports, one for the 28800 modem and two for the phones.
Software: DR Dos with multitasking, two Portal tasks, QNode v1.5 for DOS.

The above is ONE line in qnode.cfg. For explanation i split it:

Type 16 is unused. Now i have MY OWN definitions of the modem types:

 type   1 and   2 for my 14400 modem (without V42B, does not exist any more)
 type   4 and   8 for my 28800 modem
 type  32 and  64 for my Isdn modem  and
 type 128         for non-dialable systems

The next two pictures are from my administration task #8 of Portal. The first 
is a setting for all tasks, the second is different in each task!

This defines the strings shown by Portal for each modem type (1,2,4,8,..)

This is the administration task #8 which is not allowed to dial. In the analog 
task #2 the first four settings have a 'Y' in the 'call' column, in the digital 
task #1 the sixth and seventh entry have a 'Y' in the 'call' column.

What's happened on dialing?

If a system have no Vnn AND no V1nn/Xnn flag the dial string will be replaced 
with 'AT|' => no dial, only an OK from the modem.

If a system have a V1nn/Xnn flag the digital task #1 can dial, the analoge task 
#2 not (manually dials are possible cause an outbound packet exists).

If a system have a Vnn flag the task #2 can dial, task #1 not.


Uff, now i have a smoke cloud above my head.  ;)
