Subj : Possible Worlds To : All From : Lee Lofaso Date : Sat Oct 27 2001 10:13 am Hi All, True or False: Any logically possible world that one can think of actually exists. That was New Jersey philosopher David Kellogg Lewis' proposition, that if one could think up such a world it would actually exist. Metaphysicians such as Lewis will be missed, Lewis having died on October 14, 2001. He wrote four books, including "Convention: A Philosophical Study" - which won him the Matchette Prize in Philosophy for scholars under 40. He taught at UCLA, and later Princeton. Truly a remarkable metaphysician. Bye bye! Lee * SeM. 2.26 * REALITY.SYS Corrupted: Re-boot universe?
