It occurs to me that it's often easier to respond to something that someone has said by verbally agreeing or disagreeing than it is to introduce a new topic and flesh it out. I agree with you that remaining silent or not addressing certain notions expressed here or elsewhere can be destructive. Some people are in the habit of complaining because their thoughts are so frequently countered by others. They seem to think that they should be allowed to post their thoughts without said thoughts being subjected to criticism. These people appear to think they are without peer and that their words should be accepted as though they are issued from the top of a mountain. Some of these people spend a lot of time mourning over the perceived loss of better days.
