Do you mean attribute to much importance -> to self? I think most of us get too metaphysical and religious about self. -> And here we run into another difficulty: You use the word as if -> you mean something by it. But it is utter nonsense to refer to -> the broad range of scientific disciplines the efforts of -> distinguished sciences, working in various manner and modes to discover -> what can be known of the human mind...and you lofitly refer to these -> ALL with the word `psychologists' and with a wave consider them all -> as a huge group to act in this `Attributing too much'. HOLY MOTHER OF ALL THAT IS CRUDE AND DISGUSTING!!! Did you ever get that one wrong. -> It is nonsensical to so speak. I completely agree... but I did no so speak. -> It is at this point that I weary of the topic. Yet you continue below... you definitely are a magnificently strange old man. ;o) -> And, to be a bit unkind, I have the feeling that you attempt to teach -> what you have not really learned. Not rare, I've found, but basicly -> uninteresting. John... it is now time for a verbal spanking... this is going to hurt you more than it does me. You have just committed the vilest act anyone could commit in a philosophical forum. You have insulted me by completely ignoring this ______ | | | \|/ You still fail to understand the basic meaning of my words. I wonder how I can phrase my statements in a manner that will help you most in understanding my meaning. I will try again, 1. Emotion (the drive to know X), is required in all sentient beings and is required to ask a question ("I wonder why X does this?"). 2. Logic with emotion put aside is required to answer the question ("X does this because of this particular process"). 3. Emotion then takes over after the question is aswered. Emotion is what appreciates the answer and sees the beauty in the answer. Emotion is what is used to apply the answer in a manner that satisfies a need (that need can be primary, secondary etc). Discovery of the real truth is made in #2. /|\ | | All this was a simple re-explanation of my message... and you ignored it! Why? What did I do to deserve such? Is it because I have the audacity to force two old men to actually listen to a young "whipper-snapper"? Do you expect me to be humbled in some way because you in your infinit wisdom declared the meanings of my words for me? Are you satisfied with the way you managed to rape my words? I'll leave you to think about it. ;o) --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5 * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:18/140) .
