Subj : Ghosts in the Machine To : KEVIN GIBSON From : STEVE KEMP Date : Thu Nov 02 2000 03:21 am KG> JW> Vot kind ghosts? KG> KG> You know... ghosts! Spooks! Hackers! KG> KG> Haven't you been following the news? KG> JW> Do zay make der machine run any better? KG> KG> Is that the priority here, Doc? Making "the machine" run KG>better? It was you that complained about these "ghosts" so you must be advocating betterment via some action or at least via your "expose'". KG> JW> Eef zee ghosts in der machine don't make eet run better...zen KG> JW> what is der ghost doink? KG> I guess that all depends, Doc. They're not very forthcoming with KG> details about any overall mission. At least not with me. So you think it's a mission, eh? A conspiracy even, perhaps? KG>They don't particularly like it when you talk about them or what KG>they're doing. Only, perhaps, in the way an auto mechanic might get perturbed at someone walking up to them while they are repairing an auto saying "You're working on a car". Or in your case the analogy would work better with the insertion of "You're working on a trans-dimensional vehicle powered by the Holy Grail". :-P KG>They can be obtrusive, stubborn, pushy, and threatening. I'd KG>say it depends on the spook and the person being haunted. For all I KG>know, it could depend on what day of the week it is and which spook KG>is at bat. I sometimes get the feeling that they're playing good cop KG>/ bad cop. They don't appear to be in agreement amongst themselves. So the "ghosts" aren't a monolithic group. Do tell. But they have a secret mission. Ooooooooooooo.K. KG>When they start slipping messages to you in secret, it can be a KG>little unnerving. Secret messages. Secret missions. Oh my. KG> It tends to make some people paranoid, to say the least. I'd say that you are correct, you ARE paranoid. You're also projecting quite a bit. KG>Others might feel incredibly privileged. But if you don't KG>cooperate, they can be downright intimidating. It's like being KG>asked to sign a deal with the devil. This coming from the guy that gleefully posted my name, home address, and physical description to multiple echoes as an attempted vehicle of intimidation. Oh, and the crank phone calls were a hoot too. Thank you oh so much for them. Give it a rest, Gibber, it's you and your ilk that are the cyber- stalkers. You just get mad that people use flame echoes for that purpose, and skeptical echoes for their reason. You prefer to use thinly veiled insults instead of direct ones, and you believe anything and foam at the mouth at anyone that doesn't. It also pisses you off to no end that people get along with others but not with you. Well, try being less of a silly little flake mixed with pompous ass and you might get somewhere. I doubt it though, 'cause you're simply not likable. ;) Ghost þ CMPQwk 1.42 18775 þ Suicide Pact!
