JW> God, but I'm lucky to be me... :-) (a THRICE grin!!!!) A man for whom I delivered papers as a lad had the kind of temper that boiled slowly but erupted with a bang. His nephew related this story about him. One evening he declined dinner and read his newspaper while the family dined. He called his wife, Emily, "Miss Emma." Miss Emma tried two or three times during the meal to coax him to have some of "this delicious soup." Then, just before pouring it into a container for placing in the refrigerator she came in and said, "Bob, I really hate to put this soup away; its SO good, wouldn't you really like to eat some of it?" He slowly folded his paper, laid it on the table beside him and then burst out with all of the ferver his slight frame could command, "Miss Emma, H-E-L-L, I don't WANT any SOUP!!!" On Sunday morning, we'd go to his house after the town route was finished to have breakfast and head out for the country route. On one of these occasions Miss Emma informed him sadly that she was out of eggs. Before we got in the car to find an early opener across town who had eggs for sale, he slowly, deliberately and somewhat calmly reviewed her entire miserable status as a wife and mother, wondering out loud what in the world she was worth to him at all. Apparently, she was quite accustomed this this and not only was it a "happy family" but she worked, also, to help support a lengthy marriage.
