Perhaps some critique of my mystical play of FM> numbers is required each time I add one. JL> I'm sure the critiques will fly when you reach 666! I believe that somewhere in the dim past I may have commented that 666 was the name of a famous tonic produced in Louisiana in the 1920s and 1930s. It contained quinine and was taken as a malaria remedy. It was called "Three Sixes." and could easily be mistaken for lemon flavoring if one were not careful. I was not, on one occasion and added it a lemon pie mixture in error. The pies were, of course, lovely to look at but bitter as gall!! Incidentally, that "bitter as gall" was just an expression. I never tasted any gall so can't say if it was bitter or not but those pies containing the Three Sixes surely was. From another part of the house soon after I set them up I heard my sister yell, "Bubba, what did you DO to these pies. She had cut herself a healthy slice and was all set for a delicious repast!!! What a disappointment. I believe the Longs had some financial interest in this tonic. Like the Long political ads, the 666 posters were nailed to trees and telephone posts along the roads in Louisiana for a long time. Frank --- PPoint 2.07 * Origin: Maybe in 5000 years (1:396/45.12) .
