The levels of the soul are nefesh, ruach, neshama, chaya, and yechida.
Sometimes the first three are refered togeather as the soul; they are
more closely associated with one's body. It should be noted that
Maimodidies was of the opinion that there is only one soul; and
attributes beliefs in multiple souls (He mentions a different system.)
to the Greeks. (See Shemoneh Perakim) It appears, however, that
Maimodidies wasn't into esoteric elements of Judaism; if he was, he
cameflauges it effectively.
