Could be.  Although I've know quite a few ignorant people who don't seem to
have a sense of guilt, yet tend to try and do what seems to me to be just
and honorable.

What does acting righteous have to do with acquiring knowledge?  Knowledge in
and of itself is neither just/right nor unjust/wrong.  What a person does
with the knowledge they have is another matter altogether.
