        Ah, yes, and considering ancient Egypt and Sumer, UR was
modern, also.  Jerusalem was already ANCIENT when conquered by
David.  Voegelin laid down the dictum that in matters of experience
and the symbolizing of it so very LITTLE is new and one can almost
always safely observe the rule that if something like this is called
"NEW" it probably should be distrusted.  People may set THEMSELVES
apart but humanity remains as it is, striving for "perfection" even
when they disagree about what it is.
