In Hebrew, the word bara (and derivatives), used in the beginning of Genesis, is only used to indicate creating something from nothing (yesh m'ayin). The word for creating something from something is a different word, yetzira; "formation." God of course does both, but man only does the second sort of creation. JBL .... What is mind? No matter!
