I know neither this title nor the author but one "answer" can give you that will be as clear as a crystal to you is this: That which the word "God" symbolizes NEVER HAD, HAS NOT NOW, AND NEVER WILL HAVE a history. Thank God! Of course, I am not a dummy so I understand that the title of a book is not always chosen by an author. Furthermore, one of the most incisive books Nicolas Berdiaev ever wrote has the title of _The Meaning of History_ and his purpose in the book was to nail down the truth that History HAS NO meaning OF it. There CAN be meaning IN it. Now that can be an answer that even one who appears to care more for attacking persons in a debate than ideas advanced, could take to the bank or to the garbage disposal, depending you taste and preference. Since you're very big on HONESTY how about the kind of humble, honest response to THAT that one might well expect from a child of God, far removed from holysmoking, posturing, bibleing, personal trashing and all the other nonsense that becomes so thick at times in Fidonet. Would it help if I admit up front to being a sinner? What would it take to pierce that armor and find a bit of the love for fellow man lurking somewhere - eh?
