python is great for large projects. and until recently that's what i used it 
for.

as it stands now i use:

- perl for any command line utilities i need to write
- tcl/tk for any gui program i want to write. yes there is perl/tk and
  tkinter for python, but neither of them is as quick to crank out code
  as tcl/tk is.
- itcl for large projects. i like it's oo better than perl or python (much
  'cleaner'). it's closer to c++ in look and feel then perl or python. and
  of course you get itk/iwidgets to boot. it's also a lot easier to generate
  a standalone .exe on windows then perl or python.
