Well if the "send email password (system generated)" is employed you'd not need 
to do anyhing (verify) manually?

Send a NEW password (system generated) every month, if they fail to use the new 
password then they don't monitor the email address supplied = ban access to 
that username and (esp) their supplied email address. If a user becomes a 
bother have the system generate a new password, if he logs on with the new 
passsword you know he monitors email, send him an email asking him to fall into 
line..... no reply, ban him, he's playing games..
