    Quite true...<g>   I stongly recommend, however, that you change the name
of the script to something like pkt2txt.pl (or pkt2msg.pl, if your intent is 
something like the *.msg format), as that is more descriptive of what it's 
doing.   (The original script name is far too general.) 
    I have it as pkt2txt.pl where I'm working with it, which is how I was going
to do the initial import of it if I hadn't heard from you about it.   (one Idea
I've had regarding this script, btw, is once it's working properly;  either 
extend it, or create another version of it that creates html pages of the 
messages, instead of just text files...)

   <g>   Yeah, I didn't know what to do with those except comment them out
because I'm not sure what you're trying to do there...

    I did have a version of it creating message files in the directories it
created as neccessary, but now it's not working again & I'm not sure what I 
did...<g>
