I'm typing this message into my browser... The web (which is actually only part of the 'net) started off as a broadcast only medium, but it is and will continue to evolve into a much better venue. > I'll pass on your kind offer for now but thanks for the advice. Well, I was trying to meet fire with fire. :) >> Sourceforge is a good place to store your work, and have a good amount >> of visibility. That type of visibility just isn't possible within the >> bounds of fidonet, as they exist today. > I have doubts. How so? If it's on fido, and we create an echo for it, only those that wish to look in the list will see it, and they'll only get it if the system they're on connects. We could advertise in the snews, but how many people really read it? I do, but I don't think I'm typical. Sourceforge projects are listed in multiple search engines, and several projects are regularly talked about on several web sites that I frequent regularly, like slashdot.org. On top of that, you can post releases on sites such as freshmeat.net. > And Sourceforge is going to help you there? You bet! SourceForge isn't limited linux. It's limited to Open Source. And, we can post announcements on the freeware sites for other Unix systems. SunFreeware.com and sites like it are always looking for more stuff. > I know but I have doubts it will add anything to your cause. Would it hurt?
