Eventually, yes. I have want to parse the directory and find the highest 
number, then increment by one for the first message. 

Yes, I know that's easy. I just have to figure it out and put it into code... 

Knowing what I want to do, and how to code it, are two completely different 
things. <G>

Probably, but I don't know much about interfacing with mySQL yet either... :)
