it can be completely transparent to the user...you run the jam/nntp server on 
your system, user reads his favorite echoes with his favorite ng reader...

i generally prefer my msg reader to be  fido-aware...it takes work to make vim 
that way...vim i use for editing perl programs :)

i did have the start of a perl/tk msg reader/tosser/scanner that only required 
binkd (or a mailer) to work...didn't want to put any more effort into fido at 
that point...
