i knew it was dead when i wrote a perl program to parse the nodelist and keep 
track of the drop in nodes :)

i used to make daily tweaks to my 4dos bbs batch file (it ran over 400 lines).
i kept two lines at the time:

# this modification: <date/time stamp
# last modification: <date/time stamp

i was shocked the last time  i saw the first line, a little more so when i saw 
the last...2003, and 1998 respectively...
